About the Role

Based at our multi-arts facility; the Potato Shed, casual Facilities Officers are responsible for set up of events, functions and presentations, customer service via the box office, bar and kiosk, and ensuring the venue is clean, safe and well maintained.

Given the seasonal nature of events demand will fluctuate during busier and quieter times throughout the year, however the need for this position is crucial for the operation of our centre and functions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing customer service to patrons and users, including community groups and schools, including bookings, ticketing, bar and kiosk service.
  • Maintaining knowledge of the venue and season program and an understanding of the key partners Bellarine Secondary College, St Ignatius College and City of Greater Geelong.
  • Undertaking administration tasks as required.
  • Setting up or assisting with setting up of rooms for events / functions.
  • Ensuring centre environment meets cleanliness and safety standards, adhering to the COVID Safe Workplan, including undertaking high touch, light and full cleaning as required.
  • Assisting with the effective maintenance and presentation of the centre, which includes all plant, buildings, car parking and grounds.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Current employee Working with Children check.
  • Current RSA Certificate would be an advantage.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificate would be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated communication and customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in event management, including ability to set up equipment, manage own time and ensure appropriate presentation standards.
  • Understanding of and ability to adhere to OH&S requirements and physically capable of moving staging/table and seating.
  • Ability to undertake basic administrative tasks and use computer systems.
  • Ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders.
