About the role

The Manager, Programs delivers business outcomes through the management of a team and the provision of technical expertise to the team and to stakeholders. They are responsible for both people leadership and program management under a flexible resourcing model that will involve matrix management of resources. The Manager Programs will lead the operationalisation of strategic intervention programs which will enable the Health and Safety Business Unit to deliver on key strategic outcomes. The strategic priority for this role is the Agriculture program.

  • Lead and develop priority industry and or hazard prevention strategies within the Agriculture space.
  • Manage and lead a team to provide direction, support, coaching and guidance in the development and delivery of preventative programs and projects and to ensure technical expertise is utilised.
  • Ensure effective key engagement of stakeholders in the delivery of strategies, requires high extensive knowledge of the industry to prevent and reduce injury and fatalities.
  • Monitor program performance including testing and evaluation of initiatives, and risk management associated with project development and implementation. This also includes oversight of program budgets.
  • Provide highly specialist subject matter expert advice and service delivery on complex industry and or hazard prevention programs.

About you

As the Manager, Programs you will have highly developed program management skills, coupled with extensive experience delivering large scale systems programs and projects. Your communication, written and interpersonal skills are highly developed as stakeholder engagement is fundamental within the role.

  • Ability to allocate and align resources to achieve core business objectives of WorkSafe
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex OHS regulatory and prevention issues
  • Extensive experience in providing authoritative regulatory and OHS prevention advice and analysis to senior management and government
  • Ability to manage, supervise and motivate multi-disciplinary teams, in particular management of external resources, field officers and stakeholder relations
  • Excellent analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills
  • Proven ability in strategic analysis and evaluation


Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline.
